Rolly Polly Bug!

Not all that much going on since the last post...but so that it's documented for Gavin to look at in the future....today was a BIG day! Big boy Gavin rolled over from him tummy to his back 3 times! 2 times on the couch and once in the floor for daddy! This is even more proof that he hates "tummy time"! He has now conjured up a way to get off of his tummy w/o help from mommy and daddy.

No pics of the actual happening & no videos today--but I can't post without uploading at least one pic of little man, ;op.

So here is my mini "UK" fan...my hope is that Gavin loves KY as much as I do! It took me 25 years to realize just how much I do love it, sometimes it really does take leaving a place to know what it means to you.

Big Day in History...

I know this may seem weird to blog about...but I have hopes that as Gavin get's older he will not only look back on this blog to see all about himself as a child, but also to see events that took place. Up until now, nothing really "big" has happened (since his birth).

But today...Michael Jackson, the "King of Pop" passed away.

I'm certain that even 16 years from now his music will be popular, played on the radio, occassionally on tv, and at some point Gavin will know who he is, and maybe even a chorus or two. What he won't remember is the day his death was confirmed on the news he lay sleeping in my arms. I guess I'm just shocked by this news...for some reason I'm always so stunned when a celebrity dies---they just seem untouchable. My mom and Kena put it well--> this is just like the announcement of Elvis Presley's death, but to my generation.

So, this may or may not be of any significance to Gavin someday, but it's a huge deal today, and I wanted to quickly mention it on his blog.

AND to end on a happy note...Gavin also ate oatmeal from a SPOON for the very first time today...here's a photo:

I think he's wearing more than he actually ate, lol.

But in case I forget to add it to my 4 month blog....Gavin now throws mini baby tantrums, lol! His newest thing is throwing his head back and squealing like a little piggie. It's actually quite funny, but I don't think laughter is the reaction he wants out of me. I guess I'm getting a preview of the years to come!!!! Nah...when he's old enough to understand (if this is still an issue) we will discuss this---but I hardly see how my **perfect little angel** could do anything wrong! ;o)

Father's Day 09

We had a wonderful Father's Day Weekend (minus the fact that I wasn't with my daddy). We spent the weekend in Naples, so our plans for Sunday were a little off track, but it was a nice Sunday just the same. Let me begin by saying I didn't take my camera to Naples so....I didn't get any pics of our weekend or of Gavin and Nels on "FATHER'S DAY". But I did get a few shots that I am always happy to share!

Nelson is a wonderful husband, but on top of that, he is an Amazing father. He adores Gavin, talks to him, sings to him, plays with him. He ENJOYS him. Gavin is more than blessed to have a daddy like him & he will realize that more and more as he get's older. Nelson just said on the way home yesterday that he thinks it's so important to tell your children that you love them & that he will tell Gavin he loves him everyday, always. Isn't that sweet? And he is very true to that, Gavin hears I love you from his daddy NUMEROUS times a day.

I told you about the gift that Gavin and Nana got for Nelson, but I wasn't really specific on what it was---BUT now I can be! It was a BOOK...yes, Nelson's very own personal book filled with photos of him and Gavin! We even got to add a few story lines to every page. And let me tell you! Nelson absolutely ADORES this book, he teared up when he read it, he showed it to everyone that came his way over the weekend....this was the gift of the year! Nana and Gavin did much better than myself---I just bought him a new outfit, lol. But I did play a big role in putting together the book (I took all the photos and worked with Nana for at least 2 hours online with this thing).

And what did we get Papa for Father's Day...a beautiful coffee mug with Gavin's picture and a sweet note from Gavin, myself, and Nelson. Which he also happened to love! No pics of that gift though...maybe in the future? And speaking of Papa---I just want to say, that I couldn't have asked for a better daddy. If I had a list of everything I would want a dad to be and checked each item off one by one...the final production of this list would be MY DAD. He's loving, dependable, can do ANYTHING, and even though he may seem like a tough guy sometimes, he's a big ole' teddy bear that adores me as much as I do him! So Happy Father's Day Daddy...I love you very much and can't wait to see you in LESS than a Month!

Yes! All my fellow Kentucky friends...we will be in KY in Less than a month! WOOOHOO!!! We fly out July 21st and head back to FL on July 26th. My family and friends finally get to meet my little angel! And I am MORE than excited!

So my little munchkin is getting sleepy...it's time to get off the computer and give little boy blue some attention ;o).

It's been a while since I posted so I thought I would upload a few of the newest pics of Gavin. He's 14 weeks old here and growing like a weed! Nelson and I weighed him yesterday and he's a wopping 15 lbs!

He's upstairs in his crib napping now, that's a new thing we're trying out. He still sleeps in his playyard in our room, but I'm trying to familiarize him with his crib, so that's where he will be taking many of his naps from now on. We started this little routine yesterday and he already seems to be sleeping better in there. I'm watching him on the monitor and he is slowly waking up...rubbing those eyes, stretching his arms, and the hands immediately go to his mouth. These days you won't catch Gavin without his hands in his mouth and there's usually drool EVERYWHERE! You'll probably see a little of that in the photos.

So, Father's Day is right around the corner. I'm not sure how we're celebrating, but I'm sure it will play-out in this order---cards and gifts, church, food, RELAX by the POOL (which happens to be the perfect temp. now!). Gavin (aka Nana) has a very nice surprise in store for Nelson, a gift that I can't wait to see and that I know Nels will LOVE...but I can't say what on here, just in case he happens to check the blog. I will be sure to post all about it.

Uh-oh...here comes the "come get me now" tears! So I need to sum this blog up asap.

3 months TODAY!

My sweet little angel is officially 3 months old today...where has the time gone??? It seems like we were in the hospital preparing for him just yesterday! But here we are 3 months later with a little guy full of personality & curiousity!

What is Baby G doing these days???

• He can raise up off of his boppy



• He now has a strong neck & can hold up his head all by himself



• He smiles 24/7



• He loves attention and silly voices



• He never sees a stranger



• He's taking 6 1/2-7 oz. every 4 hours



• We just started giving him a little bit of rice cereal on Tuesday



• He isn't sleeping solid through the night yet, but he's almost there!



• He loves to be cuddled




• He's already in the habit of sleeping in bed with mommy and daddy in the mornings




• He usually takes around 3 naps a day (morning, mid-day, and afternoon)



• He is grasping things with his hand



• He likes to "help" hold his bottle :o)



• He weighs a little over 13 lbs. (probably closer to 14)



• He loves being outside and looking at new things



• He is a happy, sweet, healthy, growing little boy



• AND we continue to fall more and more in love with him every SECOND!

I am still at work, but my kids will finish school tomorrow...I will finish next Wednesday. Gavin's cousins Tarina & Lakyya will be flying in tonight. It will be their first time meeting baby Gav! We are looking very forward to seeing them and I will be sure to post lots of pics! We've got one more week with Nana, Aunt Patty, Tarina, & Lakyya & will be very sad to see them go. But fortunately we will be making a trip to Kentucky at the end of July! We can't wait!!!!
